I checked out the Esher St store website and we found that there was a new entry called Samson and Sophie. A cursory examination of Urbanspoon lead us to its exact location, its current rating of 90% with ten votes, two basic reviews and best of all things, ZERO BLOG POSTS. OFF WE GO.
We had a bit of trouble finding Teneriffe because it wasn't found in Jubi's GPS, so we had to use my phone to Google Map it. It ended up being at the end of Merthyr Street in New Farm! Easy! The day we were there, it was overcast and constantly raining. That didn't seem to put anyone off their meals at all, all the tables were taken up when we were there and there was constantly people walking in and out of the store. I actually saw one of the doctors I worked with there, which was a bit weird. Like seeing a teacher outside of school, do they even have lives?
The store is a very cute little gift packed deli, even more so than Esher St is! Solely because the store is much smaller so things are piled on top of each other, there are four small tables nooks to sit inside that had people there and all the people milling around the store waiting to order. I went inside on four or five different occasions to try and get some clearer photos of the interior. Every time I went back, there were more and more things that I noticed and wanted to buy, from fancy hand made soaps, wooden iPhone cases, do it yourself fresh dairy product kits like a Greek yoghurt/fresh cheese and Italian cheese kit, book marks, salad dressings, pastas, sauces, hand creams and all sorts of jewellery.

Like Esher St, they also see herbs, flowers and furniture. The desk that we were sitting at for breakfast, could've been yours for a cheap $35!

Jubi ordered a piccolo which I could not photograph cleanly for the life of me. It took me almost ten photos before I finally got this one. She said it was a good strong coffee but that the milk had not been textured as silkily as she liked.

Atmosphere: 8, very cute like joint with lots of places to sit at and to marvel at. I highly recommend sitting inside if there is space as there are lots of things to see. I really like the decorations, so vibrantly coloured!
Service: 6, the waitress at the counter who took our order was absolutely fantastic but everyone else looked very, very confused. Its counter service, but no one seemed to have any idea where anyone was seated. Jubi had to get up twice, once to get us water and the second time to remind them to give us cutlery. One guy asked me three times in about five minutes if I was waiting for anything else, same guy every time.
Food: 7.5, really good combination of flavours. My only disappointing half mark is that the food is a touch on the small side portion wise. The museli was served in a very small bowl with a very large jug that was half filled but held probably a cup and a half of milk. While my baked beans had about 2cm of sauce, and it was hard to find the ham hock bits, if I hadn't had my shake I would've still been hungry when I finished. I definitely think if you're looking for a tasty but small meal, head here.
