Japanese Deli Mazri Kitchen

VGirl, my aunt and I decided to go out for a quick meal before I was on nights so we needed somewhere nearby, cheap and super fast! TO SUNNY BANK! We decided on Mazri Kitchen as VGirl said it was cheap, had good bento boxes and we hadn't been there together before.

It's at the back of Market Square where Kadoya use to be/where the Suncorp ATM and branch is! It has a giant orange sign and is really easy to see. Yeah, I forgot to take a picture of the sign, my bad.

The restaurant is very simply decorate and reminds me of someone's home. They have heaps of condiments for you to spice up your meal with, Japanese mayonnaise, soy sauce, chilli and soy sauce, chill flakes, pickled ginger and shichimi powder.

All the condiments!

Cold food as far as the eye can see!
Here is their menu!

VGirl got the teriyaki tofu don, it came with four giant cubes of silken tofu cooked and then drenched in a teriyaki sauce, a scoop of potato salad, pink pickled radish, a small heap of salad and rice. She said she had it multiple times and that it was a good vegetarian meal. She loves Japanese style potato salad and she said this one was quite good.

TOFU
My aunt got my sister to order for her and got this kakiage udon. I always get really irritated when I see crunchy food floating in soups, I think it ruins the whole point of crunchy food because if left too long, it'll soak through the crunchiness and make it sadly soggy. That's just me though, I know some people who enjoy it like this. My aunt said that she liked the crunchiness of the vegetable tempura, the clear flavour of the broth and she said she loved the chewy springiness of the udon noodles.

Arghhhh, its all touching!
I got there a bit later than VGirl and my aunt did as I was trying to find parking after taking a detour to refuel my car. VGirl knew I was pressed for time so she decided to get me a bento box, I got there as she said bento box and decided to go with it. I picked chicken karaage as my main meal, seaweed salad and potato salad as my two salad picks plus takoyaki and a cream croquette as my two hot picks. It came out pretty quickly.

The chicken karaage were absolutely freaking massive, you can't really see it from the angle but it was! Each of the five pieces were as large as the single croquette pictured. They were super golden brown crunchy, tender and very flavoursome chicken under the coating. The takoyaki was just a single serve but it was served super hot and had small tender octopus pieces. The cream croquette was pretty good as well. The salads were great as always, I don't think I've ever had a bad Japanese salad of any kind.

The karaage were huge!
I also got a large takeway bowl of steamed rice, a styrofoam cup of miso soup that wasn't overly salty and had bits of tofu and seaweed floating in it as well as a splash of soy and chilli sauce.
