Gurgle

Gurgle is a little unassuming juice shop along the main strip of Stone's Corner. Truth be told, I would not have noticed Gurgle unless I was truly desperate for a juice and I was that day. The other two things that made it catch my attention was the celebration of its first birthday with $5 coffee aka cold brew drinks and the fact that my Boyfriend was every so slowly, withdrawing money from the BOQ at the time, so I needed something to do and began perusing nearby menus.

Since I obsessively plan to go out and eat all the time, I have a massive stash of menus, a vague idea of where lots of restaurants are and I can tell what suburb I'm in by what restaurant is nearby. When I tell people directions, I normally name a nearby restaurant and always sound surprised when they don't know what I'm talking about.

This guy.
Anyway, I decided to wander on in and check out their menu. Or at least, get close enough that I can see the menu and not close enough to the counter to actually be considered ordering. I don't like getting asked what I want, until I'm good and ready, it scares me off. The easiest way to get me to leave a shop is to ask me if I need a hand with anything. Oh and there were some wraps and salads you could buy as well.

Wraps!
It was a hard choice for me, I felt like a juice but all the juices had vegetables in them so I wasn't particularly excited. There was a sports drink section with added supplements for people who wanted extra protein/creatine and friends but I'm into that stuff either. I'm pretty sure I didn't bring my anti-bloating tablets for all that milk, so it was long time looking from the outside.

Interesting selection
So of course, by the time we had finally picked something to order, large cold brew, a mix of expresso, milk and honey for $5, and moseyed up to the counter, we noticed something. There was another menu taped down to the counter with special summer time drinks, that sounded absolutely freaking delicious. They were just fresh fruit, blended with a good sorbet and juices, fantastic! I agonised over my second choice, as my Boyfriend said he would buy another one, and went with the Frosty Fruits drink, a mixture of passion fruit pulp, orange juice, fresh mango and pineapple sorbet, after the classic ice cream.

Frosty fruitsssss
It was amazing. It was like, the first time as a child when you have a soft drink, you go absolutely hyperactive and drink the whole thing down and demand more. It was amazing, sweet, a little bit sour, fragrant and just perfectly blended. My Boyfriend made a point of mentioning that the Frosty Fruit drink was his drink, and offering me sips. He knows a good thing when hes onto it.

Cold brew
The cold brew was delicious too, but not what I was looking for.

Urgh, milk was a bad choice!
The expresso was average, a nice cold brew with an odd sort of sourish bitter aftertaste that the milk didn't quite mask. It was smooth, milky and not particularly sweet, depends on how you like your coffee I suppose.

I still think of Frosty Fruits when I'm thirsty. My Boyfriend as an apology, once ran to Stones Corner and back to get me a Frosty Fruit drink as a peace offering. It worked :).

Gurgle:
Atmosphere: 6, a cute tucked away little local juice shop. Buy a drink and get out sorta place, there's a very small area beneath the sign of Gurgle with crates and things to sit in.
Service: 5, pretty friendly, we just ordered and didn't need anything. Not a great indication I guess. Food: 7, pretty solid. I liked that one juice, but not sure if I'd normally buy from their menu. I think if you don't mind vegetables in juices/smoothies, this is the place for you.
